WARNING: THIS IS a BETA Version, and is not as stable as JFLAP Version 7
This is a new version of JFLAP that was redesigned with new features that has been under development since about 2011. Not everything from Version 7 has been implemented in this new version and this is a BETA release. We are releasing it because some people might want to try out some of the new features that were not available in Version 7. If you are using JFLAP with a class, at this time recommended that you stick with the more stable Version 7.
NEW: Visualization of the CYK Parsing Algorithm
NEW: Redesigned Turing Machine with Building Blocks
Language generation. Given a grammar, you can now generate all the strings of specified length, or a specific number of strings starting with the smallest size.
NEW: More formal definitions displayed with automata and grammars. Some of the sets from the formal definition are displayed, such as the alphabet.
Extension of graphic tools and enhanced preference menu.
New file format. You should be able to read in most of the files from JFLAP version 7, but they are now saved in a slightly different xml format. The exception is Turing machines with building blocks.
